Thursday Quotables: The Mad Scientist’s Daughter

Thursday Quotables is a weekly event hosted by Lisa at Bookshelf Fantasies

So, since I can’t quote this book enough, here’s another wonderful, poignant, beautiful quote from my new fave, The Mad Scientist’s Daughter:

She liked best the stories about people becoming other things. Stories where women became swans or echoes. In the evenings, when Finn disappeared into the mysterious recesses of the laboratory, Cat went out to the garden or down to the river and wondered what it would be like to be a stream of water, a cypress tree, a star burning a million miles away.

Relatable? Check. Gorgeous? Check. All the awards to this book.

Ooh, I like this passage! I’ve been wanting to read this book, and I like the way this bit is written. Love the character’s fascination with people becoming other things.

You should definitely read it! It’s already made my list of favourites for this year. It’s so stunningly written.

Got something to say?
