How did I miss this?!
This here proves that you should continually trawl the GR pages of your most-anticipated books. Because apparently I missed the cover reveal for Marie Lu’s The Rose Society, the second book in The Young Elites series. What. (Also don’t click through back there if you haven’t read The Young Elites. Go read it now.)
Warning, spoilers for The Young Elites below!
That cover is really coming-storm, isn’t it? Also YES to the white wolf in the background. Totally got that reference. But aesthetically, I’m not so sure I feel this cover. Hmm… but the book! I am bouncing in my seat here, the excitement is killing me! I NEED THIS BOOK NOW. Here is the description:
Once upon a time, a girl had a father, a prince, a society of friends. Then they betrayed her, and she destroyed them all.
Adelina Amouteru’s heart has suffered at the hands of both family and friends, turning her down the bitter path of revenge. Now known and feared as the White Wolf, she and her sister flee Kenettra to find other Young Elites in the hopes of building her own army of allies. Her goal: to strike down the Inquisition Axis, the white-cloaked soldiers that murdered her love, the Crown Prince Enzo Valenciano.
But Adelina is no heroine. Her powers, fed only by fear and hate, have started to grow beyond her control. She does not trust her newfound Elite friends. Teren Santoro, leader of the Inquisition, wants her dead. And her former friends, Raffaele and the Dagger Society, want to stop her thirst for vengeance. Adelina struggles to cling to the good within her. But how can someone be good, when her very existence depends on darkness?
…which, now that I look properly, tells us nothing we don’t know. Hmph. But if you (like me) are thirsting for tidbits about The Rose Society, I’d suggest Marie’s amazing Pinterest board for the series. What with the watery backdrop and one picture I remember from there (yes, I check back a lot; no, I don’t have anything else to do with my life) we can be pretty certain Adelina will be making a voyage… perhaps to
